Roslag Mahogany. Traditional translucent wood preservative for exterior use. Contains tar and boiled linseed oil. Uula Roslag mahogany leaves the grains of the wood visible and gives a surface that protects from the weather conditions and sunlight. Uula Roslag Mahogany can be used for old and new untreated wood surfaces and old exterior wood surfaces impregnated with agents that do not form a hard coating (also old pressure impregnated surfaces), e.g. log or board walls, wood boats and jetties. A new, planed surface must be roughened before surface treatment or
allowed to age for 1 year. Nevertheless, treat new surfaces with Uula Anti-Mould Agent.
Uula Roslag Mahogany is tinted with colour pastes made from genuine colour pigments. The colour options can be found from Uula Colour Chart translucent colours. The colour and texture (planed or sawn timber etc.) of the surface to be treated must be taken into consideration when choosing a translucent paint shade. A small test is recommended before the actual treatment. The surface attains its final colour when the tar has been absorbed completely.
Apply by ordinary paint brush or levelling paint brush. The surface to be painted must be dry and the moisture content of the wood below 15 %. The relative air humidity must be below 80 % and the temperature at least +5°C. In sunlight the surface can dry even in 24 hours. On shadowy surfaces drying time up to 3–4 weeks. (To be considered particularly in garden furniture, jetties etc). Withstands normal rain a couple of hours after painting. Dense and new planed surface increase drying and absorption time significantly.
Wash dirty surfaces with Uula Paint Washing Agent and mouldy ones with Uula Mould Cleaning Agent. Remove peeling and flaking old wood preservative with wire brush and scraper. Prime the surface with Uula Anti-Mould Agent at least 24 hours before painting
Roslag Mahogany is to be applied twice. The second treatment either immediately before the previous coat has dried or after 1–2 years.
