iNTO Furniture Paint / Painting instructions
iNTO Furniture Paint is suited to unpainted or previously painted interior surfaces such as wood, chipboard and fibreboard. It is ideal for furniture, panelling, doors, architraves and cupboards in dry interior spaces. iNTO furniture paint is pleasant to use, as it is odourless, it stays well on brushes and paint rollers without dripping, it dries quickly and the final result is achieved in a few hours. iNTO furniture paint is an excellent alternative for chalk paint since it is quick to use and easy to re-paint.
COLOURS AND TINTING
As well as Uula Interior Colour Chart and Uula Traditional Colour Chart, iNTO Furniture Paint can be tinted to most common colour charts. There are two gloss levels available: semi-matt and semi-gloss. Depending on the gloss level, the tinting pastes, tinting machinery and methods, there may be subtle variation in shade. Always choose colours in the space and lighting where the paint is intended for. Lighting and gloss level of the paint affect the perception of colour.
APPLICATION & PAINTING CONDITIONS
We recommend using a roller or paint brush depending on the surface material and structure. The surface to be painted must be dry, the relative air humidity below 80 % and the temperature at least +10°C. The painted surface is touch dry in approx. 30 minutes and ready for a re-coat in 2 hours.
Stir the paint well before and during painting. Reserve and mix enough paint for large surfaces to avoid potential colour variation in different batches. Paint a test patch on a separate piece of similar material to ensure the colour is correct. Please note that the paint attains its true colour once it has dried properly. Use plenty of paint, as a roller or paint brush can cause uneven texture and gloss levels with too little paint. Take care of the painting environment and protect untreated surfaces with masking tape, paper, cardboard or protective film. If you paint decorative patterns or surfaces that use masking tape, we recommend a longer drying time before taping the painted surface and re-painting.
Unpainted surfaces: Clean the surface of dust. Wash dirty surfaces with Uula Washing Agent following the instructions. Allow to dry thoroughly before painting. Level all cracks and holes with filler if necessary, and clean the surface after sanding. Prime new surfaces with iNTO Primer. Apply two coats of iNTO Furniture Paint, leaving a minimum of 2 hours between coats. Thin with water if necessary.
Old painted or varnished surfaces: Remove peeling and flaky old paint. If necessary, use the efficient and safe Uula Paint Remover to remove old paint layers. Roughen glossy or hard surfaces with a sandpaper to ensure adhesion. Wash dirty surfaces with Uula Paint Wash following the instructions. Allow to dry thoroughly before painting. Level all cracks and holes with filler if necessary. Remove sanding dust and clean the surface before painting. Apply two coats of iNTO Furniture Paint, leaving a minimum of 2 hours between coats. Thin with water if necessary.
